Speculation about What Has Killed Goldie

Let's call our attention back to Goldie’s death. The young artiste died shortly after her arrival to Lagos from America where she went to attend the Grammy Awards. There has been speculation of Deep Vein Thrombosis DVT as the cause of her death, although the result of her autopsy is not yet out.
According to a Mayo Clinic Staff, Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition in which a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in your body, usually in your legs. Deep vein thrombosis can cause leg pain, but often occurs without any symptoms. It can develop if you're sitting still for a long time, such as when travelling by plane or car or if you have certain medical conditions that affects how your blood clots. It is a serious condition because a blood clot that has formed in your vein can break loose, travel through your bloodstream and lodge in your lungs, blocking blood flow (pulmonary embolism).

DVT is actually preventable according to a doctor who called in a radio program this morning. The doctor advises travelers who travel by air or very long road trips on how to prevent the condition. And these are preventive measures:
  1. Use aspirin days  before embarking on your travelling (doctor or pharmacist prescription is advised)
  2. Take brief walks at intervals while on the plane.
  3. Get flight socks at a pharmacy and wear them when travelling by air or taking very long road trips.
I wish all travellers safe journey.
